16 POWERFUL WAYS TO LOVE!

Before I dive into this, let me make this point. There has been news about whether valentine should be celebrated or not.

While it is clear that the origin of Valentine's Day is tied to Christianity but there are those who claim that paganism is the root.

Many Christians think valentine has now been commercialized by the world. Whatever the case may be for you, here is my point; We all need love.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with loving someone. I found these words in my bible and as I went through these words I suddenly realised how powerful they are. 1 Corinthians 13:4-8
The love expressed here comes from the GREEK word Agape. Agape love is the love that can be given to the most underserved. This type of love is self-giving and does not expect anything in return.

Agape love is more than a feeling, it’s rather a giving if I may put it in that context because it gives sacrificially. For God so ‘loved’ the word that he ‘gave’. You see here that love is in the giving not in the feeling.

None of the love expressed here comes naturally or easy to practice. Patience is another hard one to practice. Love is not self-seeking- In a world where everyone is consumed by their own wants and needs. Most people are after their own selfish interest and are desperate to possess powers or wealth in order to oppress as many people as they can.

Let us choose to love today. Whatever you do, choose love. And when you love, make the effort to give.
Happy Celebration of love!
